A card I made touched a friends heart.

I made this card a while back.  One of my clients here at work came in and commented on how much it reminded her of her son.  Since I didn't make it for anyone particular, I passed it on to her.  Her son has been fighting a really aggressive bone cancer for close to half his life now.  When I gave her the card he had just gone into remission again.  Last fall, his cancer was back and one doctor they went to basically told him he needed to go figure out how he wanted to spend what time he had left.  They were contacted by one of his doctors in Cincinnati about a clinical trial he might be able to get into.  It was some type of experimental chemo treatment.  Today she came in and told me he is once again in remission.   She returned this card to me and told me what it has meant to her over the last year.  While they were going through some dark days after being told there was nothing else that could be done for her son, she placed this card in the window of her kitchen cabinet.  She looked at it several times a day and reminded herself that she was not going to give up on her baby.  She continued to look at it the whole time he was in treatment.  She just knew God had something wonderful planned for her son.  She liked the sentiment of Happy Day.  She said she knew it meant something special.  When he went back into remission, she decided to bring the card back to me that maybe the hope it brought her could be passed on to someone else.  I am just amazed at how my card has touched her.

What a wonderful, touching story. It brought tears to me eyes. It's easy to think that the art we make is only for our own enjoyment, and forget that God can use our art to bless others. Thanks so much for sharing this. The card is adorable, btw.

It's truly wonderful how one small card can bring such strength and happiness to not only the recipient but the giver as well. We may never know how much these little gifts mean to the recipients but you do and that's a blessing.
